We are a mutual aid network created by and for members of the Trans+ community in Maidstone and West Kent. We offer a consistent, supportive space for transgender, non-binary, and intersex adults (18+), whether you’re questioning, just starting out, or have been transitioning for years.

Community matters. You’re welcome to be part of this one.

About Us

This group started from a simple realisation: Maidstone and West Kent didn’t have enough genuinely safe, welcoming, and affirming spaces for us. So we made one.

We’re built around mutual aid. That means supporting each other in practical ways—sharing knowledge, helping out, listening, and just showing up. It's also fine if you just want to hang out. People do better when they’re not isolated. It’s as simple as that.

We’re not a service or an institution. We’re a group of people trying to build something solid and supportive together. That means honesty, respect, and looking out for each other.

What to Expect

We meet every two weeks in a relaxed, informal setting. There’s no pressure to be anything other than yourself. Some people come to talk, some to listen, some just to be in a space where they don’t have to explain who they are.

Evenings might include:

• Conversation and mutual support

• Games and shared activities

• Book swaps and a small shared library

• Skill-sharing

• Film or comedy nights

• Quiet social time

Join in as much or as little as you like.

We’re also planning some additional and offsite events. Things are still taking shape, and the direction of the group will come from the people in it, including you.

INAUGURAL MEETING

Come join us April 30, 7-9pm in central Maidstone

For safety, we don’t publish our meeting location publicly. Details are shared after you get in touch, but if you’re looking for connection, support, or just somewhere you don’t have to explain yourself, you’re welcome here. You don’t need to have everything figured out—turning up is enough. We will always be a judgement-free zone.

Code of Conduct

We keep this space safe by sticking to a few clear rules:

• 18+ only
  This is an adults-only space.

• Respect all journeys
  There’s no “right” way to be trans. Respect where people are at.

• Privacy matters
  Don’t out people or share identifying details outside the group without clear consent.

• Respect boundaries
  Don’t comment on someone’s body or appearance unless they’ve clearly invited it.

• No photos or recording
  Not without permission from organisers and everyone involved.

• Peer support, not therapy
  We’re not professionals, but we can point you towards support if you need it.

• Zero tolerance
  No racism, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, misandry, ableism, or other hate.

• Be mindful
  Think about how what you say might land with others.

• Guests and allies
  You can bring a +1 for support. They must be an ally, and you’re responsible for them while they’re there.

We know it can be intimidating to come for the first time. Bringing someone with you is completely fine—just make sure they understand and follow the above.
